Not nice! Channing Tatum recently opened up about his proposal to Jenna Dewan-Tatum — and it wasn’t as romantic as fans would expect. In fact, the Hollywood heartthrob admitted to making his wife cry before popping the question.

In an interview with BBC 1 Radio, Channing revealed he played a “pretty cruel” prank on Jenna. “When I proposed to my wife I did something pretty cruel because I thought she was on to me,” he recalled. To find out all the details about the prank he pulled, check out the video below!

However, it doesn’t look like the prank stopped Jenna from saying yes to her co-star turned real life love interest after meeting on the set of Step Up in 2006. According to People, the Magic Mike star’s proposal took place in Maui in front of close friends, who Channing invited under the radar.

Today, the couple shares four-year-old daughter Everly. “I knew our connection was really powerful, but I wasn’t sure what our relationship was going to be,” he wrote of his wife in Cosmo. “Then one day, Jenna just blurted out that she knew exactly what she wanted in life and she didn’t have to look for it anymore because it was me.”

He continued, “And that’s what I want for my daughter — to be expectation-less with her love and not allow preconceived standards to affect her, to ask herself what she wants and feel empowered enough to act on it.”

As for Jenna, she also knows she’s lucky to be married to the former stripper. “We definitely have a very happy and healthy [sex life],” she said. “… I’ve always been a very sexual person. Something about being a dancer connects you to your physical body. It’s primal, earthy, sexual energy by nature. You feel your body in a certain way.”
