TV's hottest trainer, Chris Powell, has dedicated his life to helping others on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. But it's his new gig as a father that's his No. 1 priority. In an exclusive Life & Style interview and photo shoot, Chris shows off his newborn son, William Cash, and shares his journey to finding love and happiness.
"I cried," Chris says, as he recalls William's birth. "I thought, that's my boy, that's my son. It's my flesh and blood and such a magical moment."
The 30-year-old and his wife, Heidi, welcomed their 7-pound, 13-ounce son into the world on June 13. Chris is the loving stepfather to Matix, 6, and Marley, 4, Heidi's children from a previous marriage, and William is his first biological child. "These are the most important people in the world to me. It's beautiful -- life can't get any better."
But not everything was always so perfect. Chris reveals that investing money in a faulty nutrition system, he ended up in thousands of dollars in debt. "Three years ago, I was living out of my car and didn't believe in love," he confides to Life & Style. But it was Heidi who ultimately saved him. "When I look back at those times, I thank God every day," he says, "because without going through that, I wouldn't know how sweet all this is."
