Earlier this week, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice‘s husband Joe Giudice was ordered to be deported back to his native country of Italy after serving three years on fraud charges. Shortly after the news broke, Teresa and Joe’s teenage daughter Gia shared an Instagram message for dad Joe — and she got a ton of backlash online because she also shared a video clip with a message that many felt was racist.

Gia, 17, took to Instagram to share a now-deleted video clip by comedian Fred Rubino, who is known for his controversial rants on social media. Fred advocated for Gia’s dad Joe after the news about his deportation.

This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my dad❤️ my father is no threat to society he is one of the most warm hearted people I know, he would never harm a soul. He puts everyone else before himself. I know who my father is and I think many of you do too. My father did his time and learned from his mistakes. Isn’t being in there supposed to make you realize your mistakes so you can become a better person? And that’s exactly what my father did. He hasn’t felt or looked this good since he was in his 30’s. We have so many plans to do as a family when he gets out. I need my father to be here. My father belongs with us and his entire family. My father came into this country when he was one years old, the United States is the only country he knows, spread the word #bringjoehome

“Just saw on the news the Joe Giudice from the [Real] Housewives of New Jersey — who’s in jail right now for a white-collar crime — was told by a judge that when he’s released, he has to be deported back to Italy. What happened to all the DACA things? ‘Oh, you can’t deport — they’ve been in this country so long,'” Fred said in the clip, shared by Gia. “This guy’s been in the country since he’s a baby. He only knows the United States. He has a family here with kids. And now we’re gonna deport him and we’re keeping hundreds of thousands of rapists and murderers from ICE so that we don’t deport them? The only difference is, is that Joe Giudice is Italian and the other ones are South American or Mexican. It is a racist, broken system. And where is the outrage? Where is the outrage against Joe? There is no outrage.”

Gia added a message to her dad in the caption, and she turned off the comments from the post, seemingly aware that she would get backlash for sharing the clip. “Spread the word, Could’ve said it better myself…I love you daddy, let’s fight this! [Fred Rubino] Thank you,” Gia wrote in the caption.

But fans took to some of Gia’s older posts to express their outrage over what they felt was a very racist message that Fred and Gia shared. “[Andy
Cohen] what are you doing about this??? I’m sure you have seen her ignorant and racist post. This is beyond jackhole of the day…she has a platform
to repost racist rants thanks to her trashy celebrity parents being on your network. They need to be fired!” one angry fan wrote.

Fans also took to Gia’s mom Teresa’s Instagram to share their disappointment as well. “Your daughter just posted a video of this guy saying Mexicans and Centro Americans should be deported cause they are criminals and very racist comments… I never thought you and your daughters were racist,” one fan wrote, and another commented, “F–k this racist family.”
