Living Her Best Life …

On April 9, the 21-year-old participated in an Instagram Q&A with fans. One of Ariel’s followers asked her why she was “so thin.” To which, Ariel responded with an incredibly open and honest answer about how she got to where she is today — both mentally and physically.

Her Journey Wasn’t Easy!

“For years I had been on antidepressants that caused me to gain weight that I couldn’t lose no matter what I did,” she began. “It was always frustrating for me because I wanted to be able to get fit and feel like the work I was doing was paying off, but it never felt that way.”

Ariel Almost Gave Up …

“I had accepted it and moved on. I stayed on those medications for so long because the process is really long and difficult,” Ariel continued. “I wasn’t ready to go through it again so I just accepted the feeling ‘eh’ instead of trying to find something to actually feel better.”

But She Prevailed!

The Sofia the First alum went on to explain that she eventually made the decision to switch medications and as a result, her efforts in the gym were finally paying off. “The change in medication instantly made me drop all of the weight I couldn’t lose before by just giving me back my metabolism,” Ariel explained. The brunette beauty did, however, mention that she’s hoping to gain a few pounds of muscle. “Also … I want my butt back,” she wrote. Either way, we think she looks fantastic as is!
