Breaking Down Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne’s Whirlwind Romance — See the Timeline!

April/May 2018

In April 2018, Ashley and Cara began filming Her Smell together alongside The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss. On May 3, 2018, they posted their first photo together on Instagram.  “After 50 tries … we got a blurry one,” Ashley captioned the cutesy selfie.

August 2018

By the end of summer 2018, the relationship rumors were definitely swirling. So, of course, Ashley adds fuel to the fire by posting a selfie on Instagram while wearing necklaces with a “C” and “A” on them. Somehow, we don’t think they stood for “candy apple.”

It’s also worth noting that Ashley attended Cara’s 26th birthday party. Where, according to In Touch magazine, they were “all over each other.”

September 2018

During Paris Fashion Week, Cara walked the Balmain catwalk, while Ashley sat front row. Sure, she may have just been invited by Olivier Rousteing, but given the rumors, it didn’t exactly seem like a coincidence.

November 2018

After Paris Fashion Week, Ashley and Cara were spotted out and about together in L.A.

December 2018

On December 19, Cara and Ashley stepped out for a night in London where they reportedly partied until 6 a.m.! They were accompanied by actress Sienna Miller.

February 2019

Roomies? “Ashley has been spending a lot of time in London lately and staying at Cara’s place. The word is they’re house hunting for a love nest in L.A., too,” a source told In Touch at the time.  

“This is far more than just a fling,” the source added. “Ashley and Cara are building a life together, and they’re practically joined at the hip.”

March 2019

On March 5, Ashley and Cara were spotted once more at Paris Fashion Week, except this time, the PDA was undeniable.

June 2019

On June 14, Cara finally (finally, finally) confirmed their relationship by posting a steamy love scene of the pair from Her Smell.  Later in the month, Cara shared with E! News that she and Ashley were actually celebrating their one-year anniversary. 

July 2019

On July 8, Ashley and Cara were photographed holding hands during a romantic getaway to Saint-Tropez. Based on a couple of snapshots circulating around Twitter, fans thought the couple got engaged.

August 2019

“We weren’t looking for it,” Cara told Marie Claire of how she and Ashley started dating. “It was really just very authentic and natural.”

October 2019

Ashley and Cara confirm that they’re besties with Bachelor Nation favorite Hannah Brown. “We miss you already,” Cara captioned a silly snap of her and Ashley trying to FaceTime the DWTS winner.

December 2019

On December 10, a now-deleted message that read, “Me and Ashley broke up” was tweeted from Cara’s account. However, it looks like the model may have been hacked because just a few weeks later, she surprised Ashley with a trip to Morocco, which the actress publicly thanked her for.

“I was surprised on my 30th birthday,” the blonde beauty wrote on Instagram. “Morocco has always been a place I’ve wanted to visit. I faced so many fears and took on new adventures with my best friend by my side. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I love you, @caradelevingne. Thank you for making my birthday the best yet.”

January 2020

The pair started the new year off strong. Ashley shared an Instagram photo of a neon sign that read, “I like where this is going.” Cara commented, “So do I.”

March 2020

The duo had some TikTok fun and recreated iconic scenes from Keeping Up With the Kardashians during the coronavirus quarantine, including Kourtney Kardashian dismissing Scott Disick with her famous “ABCDEFG” line.

Later that month, Ashley and Cara each revealed they were fostering puppies together when they shared adorable photos on social media.

April/May 2020

On May 6, a source exclusively told Life & Style that Ashley and Cara split in early April. “They were having problems and the quarantine didn’t help,” the insider added. “It pushed them to split.”
