Ashley Graham Reveals She Was a Bit of a Troublemaker at 16: I Was ‘Busted and Grounded Immediately’
Years before Ashley Graham became a super famous model, she was just a regular teenager. The 31-year-old brunette beauty took to Instagram to recall a time she got in trouble after breaking her parents’ driving rules, reminding us we’re not the only ones.
Ash posted a boomerang of herself dancing next to a hot pink Volkswagen beetle convertible as she rocked a blue bikini from her Swimsuits For All line. In the clip’s caption, she gave fans a glimpse of what she was like as a 16-year-old, and by the looks of it, she was a bit rebellious. But then again, who wasn’t at some point?
“I remember being 16 driving around in my red 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, feeling on top of the world, almost like I do next to this pink convertible bug!” she began. “The first week I had my car I was already in trouble … my parents said I wasn’t allowed to drive to downtown Lincoln, NE, and of course on my way there I rolled up right next to my dad at a stoplight! — busted and grounded immediately!! @swimsuitsforallshop my suit at the link in bio,” she concluded.
It makes total sense as to why Ash told fans this throwback story as it seems to go hand-in-hand perfectly with her retro ’90s swimsuit collection’s theme. The Sports Illustrated alum’s latest line features lots of bold colors and seems to pay tribute to the era. When modeling for the campaign’s photo shoot, the curvy model incorporated skates, a boom box, and a high-ponytail ‘do.
Swimsuits For All is just one of many things Ashley has going for her. In late March, she collaborated with Addition Elle for a plus-size lingerie collection, and naturally, she looked both sexy and confident. This girl is not going anywhere, and we’re so here for it!
