‘DWTS’ Contestant Ally Brooke Says Demi Lovato Is ‘Doing Amazing’: ‘She’s Just Thriving and Happy’
She’s killing it! Dancing With the Stars contestant Ally Brooke gushed over her pal Demi Lovato and revealed how the singer is doing these days. The ladies share a special connection because the pop star rooted for Fifth Harmony while she was a judge on X Factor in 2012 — and was seen as their biggest cheerleader while they rose in popularity. Ally admitted it has been awesome to reconnect with Demi while she’s on the dancing competition show.
“She looks amazing, she’s doing amazing,” Ally, 26, told Life & Style and other reporters about the former Disney kid during the October 28 episode of DWTS. “She seems so happy, and I think she’s in a place in her mind where she’s just thriving and happy and that’s so wonderful to see.” Demi, 27, suffered a near-fatal drug overdose in summer 2018 and has since been focusing on her health, friendships and overall well-being.
Considering the latest episode of DWTS was Halloween-themed, it was fitting that Ally also dished details about her invite to Demi’s shindig. “She invited me to her Halloween party and it’s so crazy to come full circle, you know what I mean?” she added. For those who don’t know, the “Daddy Issues” singer pretty much owns the spooky holiday and slayed this year in two unforgettable costumes.
The former girl group songstress was touched by the exclusive invite and the “Confident” singer’s friendliness. “With her basically forming Fifth Harmony — forming me — and her inviting me and stuff is so cool. Just to know I kind of have her means a lot,” Ally continued. “She still reached out to invite me and I thought that was really cool. It’s crazy how life is just full circle. And I’m filming at the same place where we filmed X Factor, CBS Live, it’s crazy.”
Demi seems to be surrounding herself with a solid crew of people. She recently hit it off with former Bachelorette star Hannah Brown, who also happens to be on DWTS this season. “She’s so great. I’m just really thankful for her support through everything,” the 25-year-old reality babe said about the “Heart Attack” artist during a group interview while filming the September 30 episode. “I mean, she is always there. … That’s what I need right now is just a friend that is supportive of — and understanding of — what, like, this new life has been and she knows it on a much bigger level than I do.”
