Scott Disick and Sofia Richie Met in the Most ~Hollywood~ Way Ever — Thanks to the Kardashians!
Keeping Up with the Kardashians? More like Keeping Up With Scott Disick and Sofia Richie’s Relationship. From family drama and public fights to PDA and moving in together, the pair’s romance is a constant rollercoaster of highs and lows. What we can discuss with certainty, however, is how Scott, 36, and Sofia, 21, actually met.
After all, the origin behind a reality TV star linking up with the then-teenage daughter of a musical legend is worth investigating. Let’s begin, shall we? Believe it or not, it’s likely that Kourtney Kardashian‘s youngest sister, Kylie Jenner, is responsible for Sofia and her pseudo-brother-in-law’s introduction.
Basically, Scott and Kourtney, 40, dated between 2006 and 2015, during which time Kylie and Sofia were very close. “Kylie and Sofia have always run in the same circle and are very close in age, so they’ve bonded a lot through the years,” an insider told Us Weekly in July 2019. “They’ve always been in the limelight, lived very similar lifestyles and grown up around a lot of the same people.”
Additionally, back in 2016, Sofia was cast to walk in Kanye West‘s Yeezy season 4 fashion show. Even if she was dating Justin Bieber at the time, it proves that her connection to the Kar-Jenner clan runs deep. That said, we know for sure that the couple officially met by May 2017. At the time, the father-of-three had flown to Cannes, where he was spotted hanging out with both Chloé Bartoli and Bella Thorne. Sofia was there, too, but as a guest of Chloé’s, Us Weekly reported at the time.
While in Cannes, photos were released of Scott and Sofia looking a little too friendly on a yacht. However, considering Sofia’s friendship with Chloé — who was romantically linked to Scott after his split from Kourtney — it didn’t seem like things would amount to anything more than flirtation.
Sofia even took to Twitter to put any potential speculation to rest. “Just so everyone can get their panties out of their asses, Scott and I are just homies, she wrote on May 28, 2017, along with the hashtag “relax.” The message has since been deleted.
As we all know, their relationship pretty much escalated from there. Try as she might, Sofia continued to pass off their dates as platonic, but once they were spotted kissing in September 2017 … the jig was up. Fast forward to modern day, and they’re still going strong. In fact, being with Sofia has seriously turned Scott’s life around.
“They actually laugh over people saying that they have nothing in common or she’s too immature for him, because she’s the one who takes care of him!” an insider revealed to Life & Style. “Let’s not forget that before they started dating Scott was partying a lot — and you don’t see that side of him anymore. He’s never out getting too out of control and that’s because Sofia has created a stable life for him.”
