The Puerto Rican beauty chopped off her famous locks for her role in the NBC series Shades of Blue.

Fans may love the High School Musical star's hair short, but when she cut her own hair for her role in the 2011 movie Gimme Me Shelter, she was not impressed with her work.
"Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mom, but we're going to let that go," she told Access Hollywood. "There's nothing wrong with soccer moms, but I'm only 22! I miss [my hair,] believe me, I do, but there's nothing I can do about it."
The Sports Illustrated model had fans convinced she chopped off her hair, but it was revealed it was actually a faux bob.
""Kate has sported the 'faux bob' in the past—she loves it," her stylist told E!. "This time Kate wanted people to think it was real. We also did this look for Halloween a few years back when she dressed as Marilyn Monroe."
"Well, I've been wanting to cut my hair now for at least a year. I've often fantasized about it but I haven't been able to do it because of the contracts that I've had, but now I just got clearance from all the clients that I work with, so I was like, "Let's just do it," she told Harper's Bazaar. "And everyone's like, "Oh, we should do it for a special event, but I just wanted to cut it—I'm ready."
