You know nothing, Jon Snow! Even though Rose Leslie’s character, Ygritte, uttered that famous line to Kit Harington on Game of Thrones, it’s clear that she feels a bit differently IRL. Life & Style exclusively revealed in July that the on-screen turned off-screen couple is engaged, and the duo confirmed the news with an announcement in The Times of London newspaper on Sept. 27!

“The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire,” the notice in the births, deaths, and marriages section reads.

Kit opened up about his engagement during a recent interview with British TV host Jonathan Ross, and revealed that his proposal didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped. “I did have some plans to do it, I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff…” he said. “But we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine, and I blew my load early.”

The hunky actor added, “Sorry, that’s a really bad expression! I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early. Not blew my load.” Despite the mishap, Rose obviously said yes.

The fact that Ygritte and Jon met a tragic fate on the fantasy-drama was hard for fans to accept, but knowing that Kit and Rose will get their happily-ever-after definitely makes their on-screen demise (a little) less painful. And sources previously revealed to Life & Style that the pair has a great relationship. They recently moved in together and are already planning their upcoming nuptials. Rose, who lived in a castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, as a child “wants the wedding to be held there,” the insider said. “It will be a traditional Scottish wedding with kilts and bagpipes. They aren’t into the whole Hollywood scene at all.”

And we’re sure their GoT co-stars are looking forward to celebrating with the lovebirds. Until then, they’ll continue enjoying their low-profile lives in England. “They both love spending their free time having friends over for dinner parties or cuddling up on the couch,” the source continued. “They’re best friends and are constantly making each other laugh.”

Kit has gushed about his bride-to-be in the past, revealing he fell in love with her while shooting the HBO fantasy drama in Iceland. “Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” he told L’Uomo Vogue. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
