Candid moment! Meghan Markle revealed during a conversation with Pharrell at The Lion King premiere on July 14 that marriage to Prince Harry isn’t always a royal fairytale. The duchess is aware of how much pressure is put on them from the outside world and divulged that it takes a lot of effort some days. The couple just welcomed their first child, Archie, in May and looked stunning as they stepped out for the live-action remake of the Disney classic. Any married couple would tell you that relationships take work, but Meghan and Harry are obviously in a very unique situation.

“I’m so happy for your union,” Pharrell, 46, told Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, after he greeted them with handshakes. “Love is amazing. Love is beautiful. Don’t ever take that for granted. But what it means in today’s climate, I just wanted to tell you it’s so significant for many of us … we cheer you guys on.”

The former Suits star simply responded, “Oh, thank you. They don’t make it easy.” Although the brunette beauty did not specify who “they” are, it’s likely she could be referring to the magnifying glass she and her husband are under by the public and the media. Meghan has even received backlash from her own father, Thomas Markle, and sister, Samantha Markle. Considering her sibling has made negative comments on everything from the newly minted royal’s maternity wardrobe to her overall ‘disposition’ (*eyeroll*), it seems as though no one is making things simple for Meghan.

However, she and Harry have become total pros at handling the negativity. Since giving birth to Archie, they’ve never looked happier and seemingly had a blast during the premiere. Among the A-listers that they met during the glitzy event were Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Queen Bey gushed that Archie was “so cute” and the ladies looked like they really hit it off. It’s no secret that the “Halo” singer is a massive fan of the royal. Back in February, she gave Meghan a shoutout while accepting her BRIT award via Instagram.

“Thank you to the BRITs for the award for Best International Group. I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly [Rowland] and Michelle [Williams]. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova,” she began her message. “In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” the pop star wrote in reference to the duchess.

Whether it’s “easy” or not, we think Meghan is completely killing it!
