There’s about to be a serious Royal shift here! Though Prince Harry and Prince William have always been close as brothers, the time has finally come for them to live in their own separate houses. Prince Harry and his Duchess of Sussex, wife Meghan Markle, have reportedly decided to take up residency away from Kensington Palace, after some recent speculation. According to The Sun, Harry and Meghan will be moving to the Windsor Castle grounds and will be living in the beautiful Frogmore Cottage. The news comes after reports claimed the two brothers would eventually split their courts, instead of using Kensington Palace as a joint office.

According to the Sun, Kensington Palace released a statement about Harry and Meghan’s departure from the Palace: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child. The couple have lived at Nottingham Cottage since their engagement last year. Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Hignesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate. The Duke and Duchess’s office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace.”

The residency the new family will share, Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, is a gift to the couple from the Queen and it reportedly has ten bedrooms and a nursery for their new addition, due in April. Currently, the space is being used to house Palace staff and has been split into five units, so it’s going to need a little time to get back into shape for the royal couple. They are reportedly expected to move in in the spring, ahead of their new baby’s arrival.

Even though Kensington Palace’s statement leads us to believe the brothers will keep their courts intact, a source revealed to The Sun that the pair may still be considering a formal split. “The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments. But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers,” the royal source revealed. “Now Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate and want to strike out on their own.” Not everything can be perfect about royal life, can it?

Harry and Meghan are currently living in a cozy cottage that once held residency to William and Kate, before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge moved into their reported 20-room apartment within Kensington Palace. But the new space will reportedly give Harry and Meghan, well, just that. More space!

With the new baby on the way, these royal newlyweds need as much of it as they can get –– let’s hope their backyard is fit for a (future) king or queen.
