Every Tuesday, This is Us decides to redefine the definition of "sad" and what it means to be "uncontrollably sobbing in the fetal position when our roommate gets back from spin class." The Pearson family is the emotional rollercoaster that we refuse to get off. And though our Kleenex bill is now through the roof, it's good to know that we're not alone. If you haven't gotten over William's death or Jack's death (whyyyy does this show like killing off dads?) rest assured that stars like Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, and Milo Ventimiglia aren't over it either.
Below, This is Us moments that had even the cast crying.

Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz were inconsolable during William's big death scene.
We all knew it was coming, but that didn't make it any easier. When asked what scene made Mandy Moore cry the most, she told People, "It wasn’t really a curve ball, but I would say the episode that just aired with William dying. I just sobbed and hyperventilated." Breathe.
Chrissy Metz was unable to deal, too. "I couldn’t tweet through the tears. I have no words just love & admiration," she Tweeted during the show's airing.
Following the episode, Randall himself, Sterling K. Brown, urged viewers to use this as a prompt to spend time with their families. "And let 'em know how much you love them and how much you care because tomorrow is not promised,” Sterling said, brushing away tears. And now we're brushing away tears. This cast, we can't.

However, Ron Cephas Jones was heartbroken when William wasn't given the chance to be in Randall's life.
Though he was vague on the details, Ron was stirred by the ending of "The Trip." In it, little Randall is on Jack's back while he's doing push-ups at the dojo, being sworn in as his protector. At the same time, William is reading a letter from Rebecca informing him that he, unfortunately, won't be allowed to see little Randall; Randall already has "an extraordinary father."
"There was a direct connection that hit me really hard, kicked me in the gut when I saw that scene," he confessed. "There’s a connection that happened with father and son that it just touched me in a way that I hadn’t felt in a long, long time, much like much of the fans. It’s a personal thing that it had in it that affected me in a way that was so profound."

Justin Hartley could hardly get through his breakdown on the field without bawling.
The star shined brightest during Kevin's darkest moments in "Number One," hitting rock bottom during a hysterical recount of his past failings.
"The scene on the football field was [tough] — there were a couple of moments where it was hard to talk because I was crying," Justin told ET. Which, like, same.
But he also surged with genuine emotion when Kevin cried over losing Jack's necklace, and even in an innocuous moment with his would-be high school classmate fling. "There was a moment with Charlotte where she said, 'You were nice to me,' that was really difficult," Justin said.

Milo Ventimiglia couldn't bear disappointing teenage Kate.
Milo revealed to TODAY that him and Mandy have little crying seshes while watches the episodes together in creator Dan Fogelman's office. And yeah, they get misty-eyed all the while. "There is definitely Kleenex in Dan’s office," he said.
But Milo's most painfully resonant moment? The scene where Jack explains to Kate that he has a drinking problem. "That one probably hurt me the most in the beginning because viewers see the pain that his kids go through and the struggles they go through," he said. “I don't have kids myself, but I know my mom always said the worst thing is seeing your kids in pain. So, I understand it and embody that very much so with Jack."

Everyone was in mourning following Jack's big death reveal…although, a little relieved too.
The cast watched it together at Dan Fogelman's house and it was a whole sobby time. "None of us could speak afterwards, we were sort of speechless," Mandy told TODAY. We were recounting some of our favorite parts of the episode and favorite lines, and we would all start crying. It affects us too."
At the same time, everyone was a liiiittle bit happy to put that painful saga behind them. "But it’s nice to pop that bubble a little bit and now we can move forward with the show and answer more pressing questions as well," she said.

But in typical Jack Pearson fashion, Milo was mostly stirred by witnessing his family's pain during the episode.
There were no tears shed for Jack's death specifically. More-so, it was watching how the rest of the Pearsons coped with his loss.
"I cry for Rebecca in that moment where her husband has died," he said. "I cry for Kevin in the moment where he’s talking to his father — and my God, Justin Hartley!"
Milo also couldn't get over watching Randall process losing his father so suddenly. "Randall is always a character of strength, and when he’s having that conversation with Tess and he’s talking about his father Jack and the family and whatnot and how he wanted to be a good day, and the second Tess was born that was automatic and he didn’t have to try, that was a really beautiful moment," he said.
And of course, Kate makes him emotional, too. "Kate’s constant hounding of herself because she feels responsible and finally transferring that over to Toby — he saved her," Milo added.
Ugh, God. How are we even going to get through through this series if we have to watch it with constantly blurred vision?
