Puff, Puff, Pass? Thomas Markle Claims Meghan Gave Her Guests Weed As A Wedding Favor
Sigh. Is this man ever going to give it a rest? Speaking with Daily Mail, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, claimed that the former Suits actress gave her guests a pretty wild favor at her wedding. To be clear, the 74-year-old was referencing Meghan’s first wedding to Trevor Engleson. After all, we hardly think Queen Elizabeth would be down with the Duke and Duchess handing out weed at Kensington Palace.
According to Thomas, Meghan and Trevor welcomed guests to their destination wedding with a small “baggy” of marijuana. How bohemian! “It’s illegal, but it’s no big deal in Jamaica,” Thomas explained. “It’s almost customary down there. I don’t smoke weed and to the best of my knowledge nor does Meghan,” he noted. Hmmm, should we give him bonus points for not being a narc? Nice job, Tom.
Seeing as the former TV lighting director didn’t smoke his, he went on to explain how he savored the gift. “I don’t know what I did with mine. I think I gave it away. I kept the bag and I use it to keep the sea air off one of my Emmys.” No, y’all, we’re not joking. He actually said that.
As much as we don’t appreciate Thomas sharing the intimate details of Meghan’s first walk down the aisle — regardless of whether or not they’re true — his latest overshare does seemingly confirm one major mystery. Back in August, royal diehards were convinced that Thomas didn’t actually attend Meghan’s nuptials to Trevor.
“Thomas Markle is making a big fuss over his daughter not contacting him, yet there was no mention of him attending her first wedding,” one person wrote on Twitter at the time. “I guess he let her down at that one, too. This family thinks they’re doing the right thing but they’re only making matters worse.”
Another agreed, writing, “I know Thomas Markle did not go to her first wedding either, but her mother did. He appears to have a problem with the husbands; it must be a control thing as the Alpha male.” A third chimed in, “He wasn’t at Meghan’s first wedding either so what’s his beef?!”
TBH, even if Thomas did attend, this situation is a perfect example of why he shouldn’t have been invited. #SorryNotSorry.
