Meghan Markle’s Assistant Melissa Toubati Reportedly Quit After Being Driven ‘To Tears’
Remember when the news of Meghan Markle’s personal assistant’s resignation made rifts throughout press? Everyone was wondering what could have left the Duchess of Sussex’s aide, who had only been with her six months, so desperate to leave her position. It turns out Meghan’s level of demands were leaving the poor girl in tears, according to the Mirror, and Melissa just couldn’t do it anymore.
When the story hit the internet, she was known only as ‘Melissa,’ but now she has been identified as 39-year-old Melissa Toubati. Reportedly, the job was just “too much” to handle. A source close to Melissa and Meghan spoke to the Mirror on the toll the job took on Melissa. “Her job was highly pressurized and in the end, it became too much. She put up with quite a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears,” the source revealed. Ugh, poor thing.
The interesting thing is, this wasn’t Melissa’s first rodeo. In the past, she’s assisted X-Factor judges Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, so she’s clearly used to things being at a celebrity pace. “Melissa is a total professional and fantastic at her job, but things came to a head and it was easier for them both to go their separate ways,” the source explained about Meghan and Melissa’s decision to part ways.
After Melissa’s departure from Kensington Palace, according to the Daily Mail‘s columnist Richard Eden, a royal source revealed just how much Melissa was appreciated for her work with the Duchess, including her contributions to the planning of the royal wedding. “Melissa is a hugely talented person,” the source had said to the Daily Mail at the time. “She played a pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding and will be missed by everyone in the royal household.” The official spokesman for Kensington Palace declined to give comment on the situation, however.
We just hope Meghan and Melissa ended things on a good note –– you never know when you might need someone, Meghan. You might wanna keep Melissa on speed dial, just in case.
