No pressure or anything, but if we want another Sex and the City movie, it’s on you! At least according to Kristin Davis, one of the stars of the show!
Charlotte York herself admitted that the first two movies never would’ve happened without fan support—so whether or not another movie gets made is up to the fans!
“If the fans weren’t interested I don’t think it would ever happen,” the 49-year-old beauty said on The Jonathan Ross Show. “It was a struggle to get both the first movie and the second movie made, partly because we’re a franchise starring four women over 40 and that just frankly doesn’t happen.
“It’s only from our fan support that anything ever happened ever in the film region. I think the third - if it does happen - is because people talk about us, we’re still on the air, there is the fan support and so it means a lot to us.”
Kristin is just the latest celeb from SATC to sound off on the possibility of another movie. Sarah Jessica Parker recently opened up about the opportunity to reprise her role as Carrie Bradshaw.
“A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” she told InStyle. “But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!”
Not only are the actresses on board, but so are the creative forces behind the show. Michael Patrick King—who wrote, produced and directed the HBO series—told Entertainment Weekly that the ladies shouldn’t hang up their Manolos just yet!
“SATC spilled over into people’s live and the characters were rounded enough that you could still wonder where they are,” he said.
“It’s all really about the stories, and if you actually think you have something left to say that would make it exciting and worthwhile for the fans’ time, that’s really the question.”
Well, if it’s up to the fans to let them know we’re interested… where do we send our letters?!
