Influencer Alisha Marie Unveils Her First Fashion Line, And You’ll Def Want It On Your Christmas List! (EXCLUSIVE)
This ain’t your average merch, folks! Influencer Alisha Marie‘s new fashion line has officially dropped on Dec. 1, and we can almost guarantee you’ll want to snag every single item. Alisha unveiled four pieces: a hoodie, a sweater, a crop top, and a t-shirt, and she opened up about the design process (which she did by herself!), her inspiration, and how her fans influenced the collection, exclusively to Life & Style!
“I’m so excited because I’ve been wanting this for so long and it’s been a year in the making,” revealed Alisha. “We actually started the conversation last year, and I’m really glad that we waited because within that time I had a rebrand and took my break, so there was a lot of me finding my brand and stuff. I’m really really happy with how it turned out.”
Fans have been asking Alisha for merch for years, and she finally decided to go above and beyond and create a line that she really conceived and created herself, with tons of love. “I actually designed all of the pieces myself,” she explained. “I know for merch a lot of people just go with whatever, you just put your logo on it and someone else designs it, so that’s why this kind of is more like a mini line. One day I just sat down and just did some fashion sketches and did some outlines of sweatshirts and different items, then I started focusing on different ideas.”
“I thought maybe it could say ‘extra’ all down it, then I remember coming down to ‘so extra’ and I loved that, and I thought ‘let’s try it on the sleeves,’ and if I messed up I would just crumple up the paper and start again. It really helped me get the ideas out.” Alisha had her hands on everything from design to materials to trying different sweatshirt styles to find the best fit. She even modelled the looks herself on her site! “I worked like so hard on every aspect of it,” she said, proudly.
As for her inspiration, Alisha credits her white/bright Instagram feed and her love of varsity and university gear. But she also took a lot of inspiration from her beloved followers. “The fans definitely influenced it,” she said. “I wanted to keep them in mind as well as doing something I would like to wear. For instance the ‘update time’ crop top, it’s something I say in my vlogs all the time and they always comment it and it’s just something I say in my family. Another fun fact: the ’11’ on the varsity sweatshirt is remembering my old username back in the day, which was macbby11, and it’s my favorite number so it’s something fans who have been around for all these years can remember.”
If you’re wondering how you can get the same look as Alisha while rocking the pieces, she’s got pointers for that, too. “I really love oversized sweatshirts, so I purposely wanted the hoodies to be oversized already on top of being a bigger size, so I definitely recommend people pick a size up so they can wear it baggy, like how I like to.”
