Fans Think Drake’s New Songs Are About Bella Hadid, but She Sets the Record Straight
Did Drake and Bella Hadid actually date? The rapper and model sparked rumors last year when Drake threw a birthday party for Bella, and fans think they've been able to find clues by deciphering the lyrics from Drake's new album. In a few songs off of his record Scorpion, Drake makes a few comments that seem to allude to a romance between him and Bella — but now Bella is setting the record straight once and for all.
"Not me!!! That’s disrespectful. WHY CAN'T PPL [sic] BE FRIENDS W/o [sic] all the insinuation," the 21-year-old wrote on Twitter. Her tweet was in response to a fan who was speculating that Drake's new lyrics were about her.

In Drake's song "Finesse," the rapper seemed to allude to a relationship with a woman but not being allowed to go public with it. "I want my baby to have your eyes / I'm going against my own advice / Should I do New York? I can't decide / Fashion week is more your thing than mine," he sang. "I can't even lie, I'd rather stay inside / I can't do suit and tie / Can't be in a room with you and stand on different sides."
Lots of fans felt that the lines about New York Fashion Week hinted that the woman in question was probably a model, and Bella is a regular at NYFW shows. In the next verse, Drake rapped, "You and your sister / too hot to handle," and fans felt that it was directly about Bella and her sister Gigi Hadid, who also works as a model.
In another song called "Sandra's Rose," Drake named-dropped Bella's father. "My house is full of supermodels just like Mohamed Hadid," he rapped and that had fans buzzing as well. But it seems like fans were just reading too much into the lines, because they're definitely not about Bella.
