Prior to arriving at the WrapWomen Power Women Breakfast in Tribeca, EmRata accessorized her outfit with the perfect pair of tortoise shell sunglasses. Basically, if you can’t decide between black or brown sunnies, tortoise shell is always the way to go. Write that down. 

What we love most about Emily’s outfit is her ability to A) mix traditionally masculine clothing with feminine touches and B) look comfortable and sexy all at once. Considering the Kardashians achieve that by mixing sweatpants with heels, Emily’s fashion sense is definitely a step up.

As it happens, the Inamorata designer looks up to one seriously credible style icon. “Kinda going ‘80s. That’s my go to. Trying to be Princess Diana at every turn,” Emily told Life & Style at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday, June 1.

“I love a bodysuit with jeans, obviously, and a blazer is always the best — the most comfortable,” she added. “For styling it up, we have some rompers that I love with a slide heel and big earrings and a belt.”

Don’t you just love a celebrity who practices what she preaches? Speaking of preaching, Emily is *very* passionate about the difference a good bodysuit can make in a woman’s life. “I think I really love the idea that bodysuits are something … Judith Light kind of came up with this. She was like you know you start life out in a bodysuit and I’m 70-years-old and it’s my favorite piece still,” she recalled.

“I think women just undervalue the simplicity of a good staple like that. I just like the narrative of it taking us through life,” Emily concluded. Smart, stylish, stunning and inspiring … sigh, Emily really does have it all. We look forward to watching her slay for the rest of summer and beyond!
