Pretty in Pink‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Star Gemma Chan Looks Incredible at the 2019 SAG Awards
We can’t get enough of Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan this awards season. Her latest look during the 2019 SAG Awards left fans absolutely speechless. The actress looked stunning in a gorgeous pink Oscar de la Renta number with the prettiest frilly details we’ve ever seen.
The 36-year-old rocked one of our favorite looks of the night. The pale pink frock fit her like a glove and she looked like a total A-lister. She paired the look with black pumps and Harry Winston jewels. It was a great choice to wear her hair swept up so it didn’t distract from all the details on the dress.
The actress quickly arrived on the scene after her role of Astrid in Crazy Rich Asians alongside Henry Golding, Constance Wu and Awkwafina.
She’s gracious for the amazing work done by the cast and crew and felt so lucky to bring more representation to the big screen. “The response to the film has been above and beyond what we could have imagined and it means the world when people express how much the film means to them,” she confessed to The Hollywood Reporter.
She continued, “The writer David Henry Hwang said something poignant about representation: when it’s been absent most of your life, sometimes you have to see it to realize just how much you needed it. For me personally, it feels like the door is finally open to telling the stories of people who traditionally have been ignored or underrepresented or forgotten by history. We aren’t going back.”
Crazy Rich Asians is nominated at the SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Considering the show recognizes the finest in television and movies, it’s no surprise the flick has gotten so much attention.
