Kit Harington Looks Unrecognizable Without His Beard: ‘He Instantly Went Down, Like, 5 Points’
Talk about adding insult to injury, huh? Just when Game of Thrones fans everywhere thought saying goodbye to the beloved HBO series couldn’t get any harder, freakin’ Jon Snow (a.k.a Kit Harington) decides to shave his beard off. Who in the Seven Kingdoms thought this was a good idea?
On Saturday, April 6, Kit, 32, stepped out onto the stage at Saturday Night Live and quite literally shocked audiences with his lack of facial hair. Sure, get it, the show is ending, but can we please take baby steps? If you think we’re being dramatic, feast your eyes on what some people on Twitter had to say.
“Yo, Kit Harington without a beard is a sin,” one user wrote. “Kit Harington looks so bad without a beard. He instantly went down, like, five points,” echoed another. If you think that’s the least of it, though, think again. People are P-I-S-S-E-D.
“Beards are like makeup for men. Kit Harington needs to grow the beard back now, good Lord,” someone chimed in. “I want NOTHING to do with Kit Harington without a beard,” one particularly disgruntled person tweeted. To be fair, it wasn’t Kit’s decision to commit this crime against humanity. In fact, during a recent interview with Seth Meyers, the once-scruffy-faced Brit explained what went down.
“They clean-shaved me. There were various reasons they clean-shaved me. I had to play Michael Jackson and Winston Churchill … famously hairless men,” Kit began. “So, they shaved me. It’s the first time I’ve had a reason to shave in a long time and I did it and I feel like I look like a kind of tired child.”
Ugh. Now we *sort of* feel bad about poking fun at Kit. Clearly, he isn’t digging his bare face either. The good news? It will grow back and Kit will resume being the sexy man we know and love.
