‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Luke P. Speaks Out After Explosive Fight With Hannah Brown: ‘I’m Not Perfect’

His Side of the Story

“It hurt my heart that [Hannah] felt I was shaming her,” Luke began a lengthy post on Instagram after the episode aired. “In our conversation, my heart was never to judge or condemn Hannah.”

Definitely Not on the Same Page

He continued, “I was simply making a decision for myself on what I expected in our relationship, our conversations and our beliefs led me to believe we were on the same page about sex.” Hannah tried to explain during their conversation that there were three other finalists — Peter, Tyler C. and Jed — so she didn’t owe him anything at this point of the journey.

In It for the Long Haul

“For me, it was never about getting a rose,” Luke noted. “It was always about finding a wife who would choose me every day just as I would choose her every day.”

In the Wrong

Luke did acknowledge that he made some ~questionable~ decisions during the season. “As for my time on the show, I made mistakes and no I’m not perfect (crazy right),” he wrote. “I didn’t totally behave as the man I want to be and I did not represent Christ the way I thought I was prepared to and that has broken me.”

Silver Lining?

“This journey has taught me so much and for that I am grateful but the greatest gift I have received is a compassion for those who love the world and its ways … Thank you everyone for the prayers always remember speak truth and rid yourself of all hate, let compassion drive your words. Stay tuned,” he concluded the post.

Not the End

Teasers for the finale show Luke coming back again to try and win Hannah’s heart. However, it looks just as tumultuous as their last conversation.

Craziness

Hannah and Luke’s fight was an unforgettable moment of the season. “I don’t believe that is something you should be doing,” Luke said about sex before Hannah went off. The two had a hard time seeing eye-to-eye throughout the entire season and everything came to a head at this point.

Hannah Beast

“Sex is a big deal to me,” Hannah assured. “Some of the things that you said I don’t agree with at all, and honestly, like, I am like kind of mad because the way that you just said that is like why do you have the right to do that because you’re not my husband.”

Just Getting Started

She simply felt like his heart was in the wrong place. “You’re questioning me, judging me, feel like you have the right to when you don’t at this point. I get when you care for somebody, you don’t want to think about someone being intimate. I feel like this is a pride thing,” Hannah stated. The former beauty queen added, “I am a grown woman, and I can make my own decisions. I am not strapped to a man right now.”

Backtracking

“To me, just being real, I can understand a slip-up, with all of them? I mean that is kind of where I am going with that,” Luke said, He kicked off the conversation by saying that he would “remove himself” from the show if she had sex with any of them, but then assured her that one “slip up” would be OK. It seemed like the windmill was anything but a “slip up.” Sorry not sorry, Luke.

The Appeal

So many fans (and fellow contestants) questioned Hannah for keeping Luke around week after week. She shed some light on their relationship before it ended. “The closest thing that I have ever felt to love at first sight was with you,” she told him. “Our relationship from the beginning gave me so much hope, and then it was like all this s—t kept happening, and honestly, you already broke my heart through this.”

Tell ‘Em!

She continued, “I have broken my own heart because I have allowed everything and to ignore all of the red flags for how I feel to have this and to have you say this about me and make me feel like you would look at me any differently or judge me or make me feel like you would not think of me as a woman of faith like I am.”

Nobody’s Perfect

“You’re holding other people to the standard that you don’t even live by. There is a lot of things that you struggle with,” Hannah exclaimed. Luke has had a rocky stay in the Bachelor mansion and managed to alienate himself from all the other contestants. “It’s like, I want somebody who can get along with people, who doesn’t have pride issues, there is so many things I don’t want out of husband that you have shown. Oh my gosh, that’s a big f—k you. That is what that is.”

Boy, Bye

“I know that I have given this my all. I have cried, I have struggled, I have screamed,” the leading lady confessed. “I have made decisions that have kept me up at night. There have been so many times I have been wanting to say I am done with you, but my heart has not allowed me to let you go.” Hannah finally received what she needed and bluntly said, “I feel like I have gotten clarity on you, and I do not want you to be my husband.”

Not Over

Luke looked confused and had more things to get off his chest. He then said that she “owed” him a minute of her time. “I have given you so many … I don’t owe you anything at this point,” she said completely annoyed. “Do you not understand that? I have bent over backward for this relationship, so I don’t owe you anything. Please get up.”

Hesitation

“I still feel like there is something in me that is refusing me to get into that vehicle right now,” Luke divulged while standing outside the black SUV. This made Hannah go off. “I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me,” she confessed. “Me f—king in a windmill you probably want to leave. And guess what? We did it a second time, and my husband would never say what he said to me.”

A Brighter Future

After all of that, Hannah seemed happy that she finally understood the contestant who had puzzled her for so many weeks. “I feel a weight lifted on my shoulders that like I finally figured it out for myself,” she said. “I am just, like, relieved.”

Off-Screen

The two even took their drama to Twitter. Keep in mind, Luke has been using Twitter for approximately two days. “[Hannah Brown], the difference in how we view sin is seen in the response, I’m weeping at mine and you’re laughing at yours. All sin stings. My heart hurts for both of us,” he wrote while live-tweeting the latest episode.

Hannah snapped back, “[Luke Parker] Time and time again Jesus loved and ate with ‘sinners’ who laughed. and time and time again he rebuked ‘saints’ that judged. where do you fall, Luke?” It sounds like there’s still a bit of saltiness between them.
