Even celebrities are awkward when it comes to dating! Nick Jonas should be used to girls fawning over him, but for his first date with his future wife, he didn’t make the first move. Priyanka Chopra revealed that she and Nick started texting on September 8, 2016, and from then on, their relationship blossomed.

Priyanka told Vogue that she and Nick “hung out for a couple of hours” on their first date and then “he patted my back before he left.” LOL! “There was no kiss. There was nothing. She’s still upset about [the back pat],” Nick confirmed.

While it sounds like a cringeworthy moment at the time, Nick actually had a pretty good reason as to why he didn’t show the actress some love. “Your mom was in the house! I thought it was a respectful first night,” the “Jealous” singer confessed. However, Priyanka didn’t see it that way. She said, “It was too respectful if you ask me.” Well, we’re just glad that everything worked out in the end for these two.

The duo got engaged in Crete during a vacation for her birthday and the former Jonas Brother couldn’t help but talk about how awkward it was. “I got down on one knee, again, and I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me? No joke — she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence.” He carried on, “I’m going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections.”

The pair just got married on Dec. 1 and it looked like a magical evening. It might seem like the pair rushed into walking down the aisle, but Nick said that when Priyanka walked into the Chateau Marmont to meet him for their third date, he felt, “an overwhelming sense of peace and understanding about this next chapter of my life.” OK, so if this isn’t a fairy tale, I don’t know what is.

So, are babies in the near future? “My ultimate dream is to have kids. As many as I can,” the Quantico actress said. Sounds like those kids will definitely have some good genes, and we can’t wait for that day to come!
