Meghan Markle’s Sister Samantha Is Upset That She Was Snubbed From the Royal Wedding
So much for sisterly love! Meghan Markle‘s estranged half-sister Samantha Markle is definitely upset that she didn’t receive an invitation to Meghan’s upcoming royal wedding to Prince Harry, so much that Samantha took to Twitter on Tuesday, May 8 to call out her sister for leaving pretty much the entire Markle family off of the guest list.
“Not just the Markles… Even Doria’s family… sister Sandy, who I adore, and who is lovely was not invited!? Joe? This #royalwedding is rude! I don’t care if you don’t like hearing it! Freedom of speech. Trade out everyone Meg? Not humanitarian! WTF,” Samantha wrote, suggesting that even the family on Meghan’s mother’s side of the family was excluded from the event. “Media can stop skewing to suggest that the family is not considerate of Meg. She is not considerate of the Raglands or the Markles. Apparently not even royal money buys class. It is in poor taste to exclude the whole family.”
Yikes. Even though Samantha seemed shocked that she didn’t get an invitation, it really doesn’t come as a surprise — Meghan is not very close with her half-siblings on her father’s side, and she has been estranged from them for quite some time after her father Thomas Markle and her mother Doria Ragland got divorced back in 1987. The only family members that are invited to the royal wedding are Meghan’s parents — and they both will play big roles in Meghan’s wedding day. Meghan will travel to her wedding location in Windsor Castle with her mother Doria, and her father Thomas will walk her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel, according to an official statement.
But Samantha shouldn’t feel too bad because she’s not the only friend or family member who was seemingly snubbed from the event. Prince Harry’s pals, former US president Barak Obama and his wife Michelle and Prince Harry’s aunt Sarah Ferguson are among those snubbed, according to the Daily Star. Although Prince Andrew’s ex-wife was invited to the wedding ceremony, she is not invited to the reception.
