The Queen of Shade… um, we mean of England, strikes again! After it was reported that Queen Elizabeth was opposed to Meghan Markle wearing a veil to her own royal wedding, new reports claim she felt the same way about her choice to wed in white.

As you may know, Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry is her second time down the aisle. The Duchess of Sussex was previously married to Trevor Engleson for two years and traditionally speaking, only first-time brides wear a white wedding dress because white symbolizes virginty. But who follows tradition nowadays? Plenty of celebs, including Kim Kardashian, ignore this rule, so why is it such a big deal to the Queen?

Well for starters, the royal family has some super strict rules they abide by. According to the Daily Mail, the Queen was surprised Meghan wore white considering she’s a divorcee. However, that didn’t make much of a difference because the mom-to-be embraced her Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy white gown followed by an off-white reception dress.

It’s more than just the Queen who isn’t too into Meghan’s fashion choices. A source from a fashion team that paid the Kensington Palace a visit told the outlet, “Meghan is being told she needs to start dressing less like a Hollywood star and more like a Royal.”

Since her union with the royal family, by nature, Meghan has been somewhat of a rebel. She’s the first African-American to marry into the royal family, as well as the first outsider who’s been divorced, and she’s constantly taking risks with her fashion choices. The Duchess has been known to rock her own style which doesn’t always fall under what the royals would typically wear. For instance, she sometimes wears dresses slightly above the knee or sports very bold outfits.

TBH, while everyone else may disagree, we’re so for it.
