The Weeknd Wishes His ‘Angel’ Bella Hadid A Happy Birthday With Rare PDA-Packed Clip
Cue the awws! The Weeknd took to Instagram on Tuesday, Oct. 9 to wish his “angel” Bella Hadid a Happy Birthday. The cute couple — who reunited following his split from Selena Gomez — has largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight… until now, that is!
“Happy Birthday, Angel,” he captioned a video of them smooching as well as several other cozy shots.
The last time we saw the duo locking lips was back in August when they were spotted outside their Los Angeles hotel, shortly before grabbing a bite to eat. According to E! News, they’ve reportedly been back together since July.
Bella and The Weeknd — whose real name is Abel Tesfaye — have been living it up after reigniting romance rumors, traveling to Tokyo and Paris this past summer. “Abel realized once he started dating around, that he actually is still in love with Bella, and they reconnected,” an insider told the site.
An separate insider revealed to People that Selena and The Weeknd broke it off due to distance. “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them,” the source said, but their breakup was not because of lack of trying.
“[Selena] always made an effort” to attend his shows when she could, the insider continued. “It’s over for now, but they’re still in touch. It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months.”
Well, it looks as though Selena is now a distant memory! And she has seemingly moved on herself. Late last month, a source close to the “Back To You” singer told Hollywood Life, “Selena is ready for a new boyfriend ASAP. All this Justin [Bieber] and Hailey [Baldwin] marriage buzz has Selena feeling emotional and ready for a new relationship to keep her mind off her ex.” Sounds like a plan to us!
