Can someone please check on Colton Underwood? This week on The Bachelor was so intense and brought drama, tears and (of course) fantasy suite dates. Our leading man took the next big steps on his journey to find love. Keep scrolling for the full episode recap.
During the evening portion of their date, Tayshia shockingly revealed that her husband was the first person she had sex with. Even more surprising, after a year and a half into her six-year-long marriage, he cheated on her. She assured Colton that she doesn’t take the physical aspect of relationships lightly.
No, they did not have sex. “I could pick up how nervous he was. I wanted to be supportive … We didn’t get the physical intimacy,” Tayshia explained the next morning. “Right now, I am not in love. I am falling in love,” Colton admitted in his one-on-one interview.
The California beauty was next in the lineup. Colton picked her up in style in a trendy convertible. The duo explored more of Portugal and shared a lot of laughs (and kisses). Needless to say, the athlete is smitten. He confessed, “Cassie makes me feel complete,” during their date.
“I would love nothing more than to hear that Cassie is falling in love with me … I know for sure, I love Cassie.” the athlete said during his private interview. “Tonight could be the night that I’ve been looking forward to this entire journey.”
Colton told Cassie that he did not receive her father’s blessing to propose. He seemed disappointed but added, “By him telling me I don’t have his blessing does not discourage me about us … You mean a lot to me.”
She kept her cool in front of the stud but got very emotional during her one-on-one. “I know that they want the best for me,” she said about her family. “The fact that they’re not 100 percent sold on Colton and I together kind of freaks me out. It makes me confused if he’s the right person.”
Cassie’s dad, Matt, showed up in Portugal to offer his sage advice after shutting down Colton asking for his blessing. “You seemed conflicted,” he pointed out as his reasoning for not wanting her to get engaged. Cassie cried, “I just wish I had more time. I don’t want it to be over with him but it scares me that at the end it’s accepting a proposal, that’s huge. But I’m not ready for it to be over.” Her dad didn’t seem convinced that she was fully ready and offered this piece of key advice: “Don’t be afraid to follow your heart. Following your heart doesn’t mean it’s easy.”
Before their date, Cassie revealed that she was going to send herself home. “Today was perfect and I love you so much. After today, I’m not, like, in love,” the blonde beauty explained to Colton. “I don’t know why after today I’m not … I feel like I’m having doubts about it.” She ended up storming out of the room and crying outside.
“I’m OK with being patient … I don’t want to lose you,” Colton assure Cassie to keep her from leaving. “I want to be with you. I want to be around you. I can’t stop thinking about you when I’m not around you. It’s not easy going on other dates with other women when all I do is think about you.”
He basically told her that he wanted only her at the end of the journey. “The last thing I’m going to do is give up. The last thing I’m going to do is walk away from this relationship … I’m sitting here telling you I’m in love with you,” he pleaded through teary eyes. “I care for you. I love you. I want you to be at the end of this, engagement or not … I feel that strongly about you.”
In the end, Cassie decided to go home. A physically upset Colton announced, “I’m f—ing done!” He (finally) jumped the fence with Chris Harrison chasing after him. The episode ended with the leading man lost in the woods of Portugal.
