Colton Underwood Doesn’t Care That Cassie Was on a Dating Show Before ‘The Bachelor’: ‘Good For Them’
Are we really surprised, though? At this point in the season, it seems like Cassie can do no wrong in Colton Underwood‘s eyes. He revealed that he doesn’t really care that she was on a reality show about her previous relationship before coming on The Bachelor.
“I haven’t watched that show, so I can’t really speak on it. I didn’t know Cassie while she was filming that show,” the 27-year-old told Us Weekly at the Bachelor: Women Tell All taping in Los Angeles on February 22. The reality stud is referring to Young Once, a show that follows a group of California 20-somethings navigating life. During the two seasons, Cassie, 23, and her ex-boyfriend Caelan Tiongson‘s on-and-off relationship is closely followed.
The former football player is treating the blonde beauty’s reality past as just that — something that happened in the past. He continued, “I mean, good for them if that was her relationship and she made the choice to go pursue another relationship and to come onto The Bachelor. I can only speak for my experiences and going on and stepping foot onto this franchise is one of the best things that I’ve ever done.”
Young Once gave a very intimate look into Cassie and Caelan’s romance, including the blonde beauty saying that she could see herself marrying and having a family with him. However, during the season 2 opener, she also mentioned, “It’s hard for me sometimes to make really big decisions because I don’t know if it’s what I want or it’s not.”
Viewers saw her indecisiveness on the latest episode of The Bachelor on February 25 when Colton visited her hometown. She seemed to have some reservations about emotionally going to the next level with the reality stud. While we don’t know where Cassie’s head is at right now, we do know things are cool between her and her ex.
“Both Cassie and I made mistakes in our relationship, but I think we’d both agree it dragged out much too long anyway,” the basketball pro explained in a statement on Instagram alongside a photo with his former GF. “It can be said without a doubt that her and I were not a fit for each other. The reality of the situation is that Cassie is a great girl. Nobody has the right to tell her whether or not she has good intentions. I wish her nothing but success and happiness moving forward. I thought this would be the best way to preserve the truth and encourage the trolls to check themselves before tearing down a good human being.” Well, that clears things up a bit.
