Wait … what?! Hannah Brown was incredibly open about her feelings for Colton Underwood on The Bachelor. Not only did she tell him twice that she was falling for him, but she told his mother she was straight-up in love with him hours before he sent her home. But on February 27, the 23-year-old pageant beauty clarified that she was never all the way in love … and she didn’t actually say she was!

“That was editing,” Hannah told ET when asked about the moment that she enthusiastically told Colton’s mom “yes” when she asked if she was in love with him. While she didn’t reveal the true way she answered that question, she did swear it was the magic of production, not her true feelings. “Come on. I don’t go, ‘Yes!’ I know I’m weird, but not that weird.”

Still, Hannah wasn’t faking her emotions for the camera — she really did have strong feelings for Colton. “I had feelings of love with him and I wanted to progress and I think I could’ve been, but [I was] definitely falling in love with him,” she explained. “I think watching back the breakup always makes me a little bit emotional, but ultimately, he didn’t feel the same way I did … I think he’s a great guy and I want the best for him and I want the best for me too … I was falling in love with him, but I wasn’t in love with him.”

And while her feelings have since changed, she’s still hopeful about the future of her love life, and even hopes we’ll get to watch her lead next season of The Bachelorette. “I would love to have the opportunity to continue on shedding that layer of just trying to be whatever I think people want me to be and just being myself,” she said. While there are plenty of amazing girls to choose from as the next star, we definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more from Hannah Beast.
