The Most Random Feud in ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ History: Here’s What Happens Between Derek Peth and John Paul Jones
Yikes! Teasers for season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise show Derek Peth and John Paul Jones in an all-out screaming match, which Bachelor Nation definitely didn’t expect. Our favorite bro from Hannah Brown‘s season is all about making friends and having a good time while Derek is known to be very chill. However, something seems to stir up a lot of emotion between the two as they search for love on the beach. See what happens between the frienemies below. Caution: Spoilers for Paradise are below. Do not keep reading if you don’t want to know what happens!
“Don’t insult my intelligence, Derek,” JPJ can be seen assertively yelling to Derek in the promo video. “You’re full of s—t. You take advantage of women. Get out of my sight.” So, what could evoke so much rage from the franchise’s resident chicken nugget lover? He seems to fall into a love triangle with Tayshia Adams. According to Reality Steve, the reality babe gives JPJ a rose during the second elimination ceremony. The next week, Derek gives Tayshia his rose. Before the fourth elimination is when Derek and JPJ’s tension comes to a head.
Apparently, JPJ confronts Derek about making some sort of comment about “using” women. This is when things get explosive and Reality Steve claims that Tayshia sides with the blonde stud. Derek then gets very emotional — which explains why fans can later see him crying during a private interview — and he opts to leave the show. The following elimination ceremony, Tayshia gives her rose to JPJ. The two seemingly stay an item but break up right before overnight dates.
The contestant kept things pretty hush-hush during an interview with Extra that released on August 5. “I will say that fate took its course and you may or may not see me in a speedo,” JPJ teased about his appearance.
We can already confirm the speedo, and we can’t wait to see what other surprises John Paul Jones has for us!
