We need answers! Fans have wondered all season who Peter Weber’s mom, Barbara, is crying over when she says, “Don’t let her go … Bring her home to us,” in all the Bachelor trailers. While it seems likely that she’s talking about one of the final two contestants — Madison Prewett or Hannah Ann Sluss — ABC executive Rob Mills teased that the answer may come from left field.

“I would say it’s probably not who people think,” Rob told Variety in an interview published on March 7. “People will probably be surprised when they see who she’s talking about.”

This is so pivotal because the opinion of the 28-year-old’s family means more than any other season. “He lives with his family, so you’ll see family dynamics like we’ve really never seen in a finale,” Rob added about the reality stud’s close-knit crew. “The meet-the-parents stuff is very real and very different. It’s all really riveting, and watching it through that lens, you really see how it informs Peter’s decision.”

Bachelor Nation has joked that Barb’s emotional moment is the “fence jump” of season 24, which references Colton Underwood literally hopping over a gate after Cassie Randolph eliminated herself during season 23. The scene has been in every trailer since the first week, and many people think she’s shedding tears over contestant Madison, 23. Keep reading to see why! Caution: Spoilers for Peter’s Bachelor finale are below.

The Alabama beauty reportedly eliminates herself before the final rose ceremony, according to Reality Steve. This leads viewers to think that Barb is encouraging the 28-year-old to chase after her. However, that may not be the case.

Rob noted that “not even Peter” knows how his season ends, which means the finale will most likely end on a cliffhanger and (maybe) get hashed out live on After the Final Rose. “It’s going to be pretty unresolved,” Rob explained about the two-part finale. “A lot of stuff went down since November when we finished filming, and even now, still up to the minute, it will be live on the show. Honestly.”

Spoilers revealed that after Madison self-eliminates, Peter tells Hannah Ann, 23, that he can’t make a final decision without talking with both of them. The final rose ceremony (and possible engagement) gets canceled as the leading man goes back to the states to talk with Madi. At some point, he ends things with Hannah Ann and begins “courting” Madison to regain her trust.

However, Reality Steve admitted on March 5 that there is “definitely some weirdness going on” and he had been hearing “so many different things” about the ending. So, it’s possible that things turn out completely different.

Time will tell how Peter’s future unfolds.
