After spending the holidays alone, John Mayer tells Life & Style that he's looking forward to starting anew in 2012. "I'm looking forward to moving on from this year to 2012," John shared with Life & Style at Los Angeles International Airport on Dec. 30. "New beginnings in the new year," he added.
John was on his way back from a quiet week in Narita, Japan, where he could spend Christmas alone, away from family and friends, and take stock of his life. "He needed to get away and clear his head," claims a pal.
The publicity-loving singer has dated, dished and subsequently hurt many of his exes -- from Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jessica Simpson to Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston -- but he's now the one wondering where he went wrong in life, according to the source, and has spent recent months uncharacteristically avoiding the spotlight. "He's been in a bad place," his pal tells Life & Style. "But he's trying to get to a better one."
