Just when you thought Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s highly anticipated wedding couldn’t get any more romantic, it is being reported that Ed Sheeran has been tapped to serenade the couple. It makes sense since the “Shape of You” singer has a history with the royal family — and would fit right in with the newlyweds.

“Ed Sheeran has yet to confirm but I’m not sure you turn down Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter told Entertainment Tonight. “People love his romantic love songs so he’s an ideal candidate for that first dance and I think Harry has always enjoyed Ed Sheeran.”

The British singer will most likely sing during the evening reception, which will take place on May 19 and will be hosted by Harry’s father Prince Charles, who presented Ed with the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) medal last year. “This is where everyone’s really going to get down, this is for close friends and family,” Victoria added.

Along with meeting Prince Harry long before his engagement at Queen Elizabeth‘s Jubilee in 2011, Ed is also good friends with his cousin Princess Beatrice — who is rumored to be responsible for the scar on the pop star’s cheek. The accident allegedly took place at a party hosted by Beatrice at Windsor, who proceeded to pretend to knight Ed with a sword but slipped. “I can’t talk about it,” Ed said of the incident on The Graham Norton Show in 2017. “I don’t know what will happen if I do!”

He continued, “I have no idea how it came out as there weren’t a lot of people there that night. For two weeks after, I had a huge gash on my face and would tell people I fell and then suddenly, the story came out.” Sword mishaps aside, Ed won’t be the only famous crooner at the nuptials. Elton John recently rescheduled several concerts initially set for Prince Harry’s wedding weekend sparking rumors he will be in attendance. “Well, I spent some time with [Harry] in Sicily last summer, and I could tell that he was totally in love,” Elton said earlier this year. “He didn’t really discuss much personally, but he said ‘I’m in love,’ and I thought, good for you.”

With an 8 a.m. EST start time, we’ll be sure to set our alarms to watch Meghan go from Suits actress to Duchess of Sussex. We can’t wait.
