Kate Middleton is determined to keep the sex of her baby a secret. The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted shopping at the exclusive Bernard Thorp store in London on June 4 but despite the store window being decked out in blue, the mom-to-be picked out a selection of fabrics in neutral colors for her nursery.
The Daily Star reports that Kate – who’s due to give birth to her first child with Prince William in July – spent nearly 40 minutes in the store with a friend.

“Kate had very definite ideas about what she liked,” an insider said. “The Duchess was charming and so lovely. She didn’t put on any airs or graces.”
The 31-year-old, who was wearing a short blue dress, a pink cardigan and comfortable wedges was feeling the heat inside the store. “It was boiling hot outside, so the door was open to cool down but she was feeling the heat so we sat her down with a glass of water,” the insider reveals.

Kate picked out beige and brown handmade fabrics that cost $205 a meter and also chose a cream and light brown herringbone stripe for the curtains in a corridor. She coordinated that with a darker beige and terracotta herringbone design for a sofa, and spent time looking at fabrics in a sample book.
“She said she’d got so many ideas after coming in,” the insider reveals.
Kate is decorating two nurseries for her baby – one is in the small cottage she shares with Prince William in the grounds of Kensington Palace, while the other nursery is in the new 20-room apartment in the palace itself that Kate, William and their little prince or princess will move into when renovations are completed later this year.
