Kelly Rowland sparked rumors she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend and manager, Tim Witherspoon, when she sported a diamond ring on her finger in an Instagram video last month.
Though she has yet to comment on the matter, the X Factor judge is sharing her advice for a long-lasting relationship to the show’s boyfriend-girlfriend duo, Alex and Sierra.

“The minute there is a recording contract, guys are going to be after her. He’s so fine, so girls and guys are going to be after him! I think nothing has tainted them yet, and it’s just so precious to watch. It’s just innocence with love,” she told Life & Style on Wednesday after the pair [pictured below] performed an amazing rendition of Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity” in the semifinals. “They’re young. Ain’t nobody messed up yet. Stay innocent. Don’t [mess] up! Just be honest with each other.”
The 32-year-old former Destiny’s Child star added that the secret to making it work is communication.
“They just need to keep the lines of communication open with each other because now they're going into this business and that's another tricky dynamic for the relationship,” she shared. “I just really wish them communication skills.”
Before getting involved with Tim [pictured below on the right], Kelly endured a lot of heartbreak. She called off her engagement to NFL star Roy Williams before their wedding in 2005. And this past June, she revealed that she’d been in an abusive relationship in the past. The songstress has yet to reveal the man’s identity, but she wrote a song, “Dirty Laundry,” about the situation.

“I was battered / He hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered / He pulled me out, he said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me / Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey,’” she sings on the track.
Kelly later clarified that the unknown man was mainly emotionally abusive.
“A piece of me would just go away every time he would say something,” she said. “I’ll never forget those things. I’ll forgive him…he’s a different person now, but it was things to tear me down as a person, as a woman.”
