When it comes to his relationship with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry is throwing tradition out the window. Along with being American, the Suits actress is also a divorcee — a big no-no in the royal family. Yes, Meghan Markle has been married more than once. However, that clearly didn’t stop Prince Harry, 33, from popping the question to Meghan, 36, after a year-and-a-half of dating. And with the royal wedding less than one week away, interest in Meghan’s ex-husband, film producer Trevor Engelson, is at an all-time high.

The 41-year-old, who is best known for his Robert Pattinson film Remember Me, dated the future royal for six years before getting engaged in 2010. They tied the knot a year later in a four-day wedding celebration in Jamaica and were married for two years before calling it quits. The couple cited irreconcilable differences, with sources reporting her role as Rachel Zane in the USA series was to blame for the split.

“Meghan landed her role in Suits just a few months before they married,” an insider told Woman’s Day magazine. “Trevor was based in LA while Meghan was in Toronto, a five-hour flight away. It was a very difficult way to start married life.” Meghan definitely isn’t planning to let the same thing happen with Harry. It was announced by the royal family that Meghan will be living with Harry at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

Trevor has reportedly moved on too since his ex was thrust into the spotlight. Not only is he said to be dating dietitian Tracey Kurland these days, but he got over his divorce with the help of Carl’s Jr. model Charlotte McKinney in 2014. Though he clearly enjoyed his time with the blonde beauty — once referring to her as “way out my league,” according to The Sun — sources say his split from Meghan hit him “pretty hard,” and he hated reliving it once Harry came along.

Woman’s Day recently reported that Trevor was offered $1 million to write a tell-all about his previous marriage. “Trevor has remained tight-lipped until now, despite numerous cash offers being on the table,” a source shared. “But now he’s been tempted to open up about what he calls ‘years of hell.'”

Along with spilling details about their sex life, the screenwriter has allegedly been asked to write about her temper tantrums and claims she had an emotional affair during their marriage. He’s also reportedly in talks to produce a TV series about an American divorcee who marries a British prince. What an original idea.
