Uh, wait, nevermind! Aaron Carter and his girlfriend, Lina Valentina, are actually not expecting a baby, even though the singer heavily alluded to it in a recent social media post. Confused? So were a ton of fans. Aaron has cleared the air himself, and, it turns out, he was just practicing wishful thinking. Hmmm…weird flex but OK.

The “Aaron’s Party” singer explained to E! News, “A few weeks ago, I posted something on social media about hoping to have a child soon and it seems that started some rumors. I am looking forward to becoming a dad, but am not expecting a child right now.”

This is definitely a bit confusing considering on Nov. 20, Aaron took to Twitter to gush about his life. “I’m in such an amazing place mentally, physically, and emotionally,” he wrote. “I finally bought my first home 🏠 and I’m going to be proposing soon to my gf and we might just be expecting… 👸🏻🤴🏼.”

Aaron also teased “exciting news” to E! after he and Lina got back from a trip to Manila. He added that they “can’t keep our hands off each other EVER!” Soooo, there’s that.

Even though it looks like a baby is still in the distant future for Aaron and Lina, the singer is focusing on a living a healthy life. He made a rare public appearance over Thanksgiving after announcing he was going back to rehab. “Today, I’m thankful to be able to give back to [Project Angel Food] Happy Thanksgiving to all my fans!” he wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post.

He joined actress Charo, Bones star Sara Rue, and comedian Hal Sparks to give back during the holidays and was feeling especially grateful. “Find thanks in everything you can around you because some of us are spending Thanksgiving maybe without loved ones,” he told local news TV station KTLA. “Also just try to look around and find inspiration and hope and be thankful for whatever it is that you can be.”

Baby or no baby, Aaron and Lina look happy together. Hopefully, they’ll keep the confusion down to a minimum.
