He showed up and showed out! American Horror Story star Billy Porter dropped all of the jaws when he arrived at the 2019 Oscars red carpet wearing the most fabulous, gender fluid ensemble. Billy wore an amazing velvet tuxedo gown by Christian Siriano and Twitter was completely blown away by his bold fashion choice.

“Billy Porter is the level of extra I aspire to be in life #Oscars,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “Billy Porter on the #Oscars red carpet is sheer perfection,” another Twitter user wrote, and another social media user added, “#BillyPorter SLAYED. You may all go home, nothing will come close.”

The Pose star took to Instagram to share a photo of himself from the red carpet to share details about his look. “When you come to the Oscars, you must dress up. Thanks [Christian Siriano] for creating this custom couture masterpiece,” the 49-year-old wrote in his caption.

Billy rose to fame as a Broadway actor, starring in the productions Grease and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. He went on to win the 2013 Tony award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his role as the original role of Lola in Kinky Boots.

But he’s also known in the fashion world, thanks to his fabulous red carpet looks. After snatching wigs on the Golden Globes 2019 red carpet with a custom couture suit and cape designed by Randi Rahm, Billy Porter was named as the only ambassador for Men’s New York Fashion Week. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Billy explained what inspires his style choices.

“I have always used clothes as a tool for self-expression and find immense pleasure in celebrating life, love and joy through fashion,” he said.
