The biggest night in the film industry brings all the A-listers out. Fans were anxiously wondering if Taylor Swift would make an appearance at the Oscars with her actor boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. Although he wasn’t individually nominated for a coveted award, The Favourite — which he appeared in — was named in several categories.
The actor did show up to the glitzy award show but walked the red carpet with his co-star from The Favourite Nicholas Hoult. This doesn’t mean that the songstress isn’t attending the show, but she obviously steered clear of the paparazzi.
The 28-year-old played Masham in The Favourite alongside huge names like Emma Stone, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz. The flick has been recognized at every awards show this season and the Oscars were no exception. The film was nominated for: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Olivia Colman), Best Supporting Actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz), Best Original Screenplay (Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara), Best Costume Design (Sandy Powell), Best Cinematography (Robbie Ryan), Best Production Design (Fiona Crombie and Alice Felton) and Best Film Editing (Yorgos Mavropsaridis). He also appeared in Mary Queen of Scots as Robert Dudley which was named in the categories Best Costume Design (Alexandra Byrne) and Best Makeup and Hairstyling (Jenny Shircore, Marc Pilcher and Jessica Brooks). The young actor’s career is really skyrocketing.
