Um, Here’s the Tea… Taylor Swift is Skipping the Grammys For BF Joe Alwyn!
What’s a girl to do? Seems like Taylor Swift actually didn’t have such a difficult time with the tough decision between attending the 2019 Grammy Awards or attending the British Academy Film and Television Awards with her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, on February 10. The 29-year-old pop idol will not be attending the biggest night in music and we’re like, seriously shocked, y’all. Instead, the singer was spotted at the BAFTA Awards afterparty in London on Sunday evening.
Tay’s album Reputation is only up for one award this year, Best Pop Vocal Album — to some, a complete snub — and on top of that, the singer is currently in London anyway filming the movie musical Cats. She hasn’t been spotted much publicly out in the U.K., but she has been keeping the fans updated during shooting via Instagram. It makes sense that she would make an appearance at the BAFTAs with her bae.
The starlet also kinda shocked the world during her jaw-dropping appearance at the Golden Globes to support her 27-year-old beau, so it definitely doesn’t shock us that she was with Joe at the event.
Joe isn’t nominated for a BAFTA award individually, but according to Taylor’s most recent Insta post, his movie The Favourite won 7 awards! “Bout to go give some high fives,” the pop star said in the caption.
Taylor hasn’t attended the Grammy Awards since 2016 when she infamously walked the red carpet with BFF Selena Gomez. Since she isn’t attending the music celebration, it will be interesting to see if she puts out any music in the coming year that would place her at next year’s event. If not, next year will be her fourth show absent. Crazy stuff, y’all.
Whether it’s on the red carpet or at an afterparty with her man, it’s safe to say we’ll all be discussing Miss Swift’s fierce BAFTAs look this time tomorrow.
