The 36-year-old beauty looked stunning as she took the stage with her This Is Us co-star Milo Ventimiglia in the burgundy minidress with ruffled sleeves, which she paired with sequined flats.
Apparently, some people with a lot of time on their hands felt the need to criticize her fashion choice on social media — prompting Chrissy to speak out.
"For the record, I wear what I want, when I want. News flash it's MY body. #thankstho," she tweeted following the awards show.
This is not the first time Chrissy has spoken out about her weight and her character Kate's similar journey on the hit NBC series.
"I think it's a coincidence that I booked — well, maybe not a coincidence — that I booked a role that's so similar to who I am and when that was obviously posed to me as, maybe this character's going to be on a weight loss journey, I was like, 'Oh! That's convenient. Okay! I could do that too,'" she said on The Wendy Williams Show. "But I'm also at the place where I accept myself for who I am so I now can get to the place I want to be."
And Chrissy is not letting the haters bring her down. She is currently dating cameraman Josh Stancil, whom she met on set, and is happier than ever.
"It’s really mostly about energy — Do I get on with someone? Because looks are going to fade," she told People magazine of her new relationship. "If I can’t get along with somebody and have a friend, then what’s the point?"
She continued, "It wasn’t like [he] came out of the woodwork just because I’m on the show. It was just organic, and I’m grateful for that.”
