Meet the Celebs Who Will Be Competing in the Ballroom for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 29

To the ballroom! The celebrity cast of Dancing With the Stars season 29 was announced on Wednesday, September 2, and it’s stacked with A-listers like former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn BristoweTiger King star Carole Baskin, Monica Aldama from Netflix‘s Cheer, Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause and more. 

Season 29 premieres on Monday, September 14, and fans can expect a few changes. One of the biggest includes Tyra Banks replacing Tom Bergeron as host for the reality competition show. Cohost Erin Andrews will also not be returning.

“I am so excited, you guys,” the America’s Next Top Model creator, who is now an executive producer of DWTS, said via Instagram in July shortly after she was announced as host. “This is going to be, like, bananas. We’re going to take Dancing With the Stars to the next level. Did you think I was going to waltz on over to Dancing With the Stars and not bring you with me? Oh no, baby, we will be smizing on ABC.”

Last year’s winning pro, Alan Bersten, who was paired with Bachelorette star Hannah Brown, will be returning for season 29 along with dancer Sasha Farber, who placed in third with partner Ally Brooke. Season 28 runner-up, Witney Carson, who partnered with Kel Mitchell, will not be appearing this season due to being pregnant with baby No. 1

Other fan favorites, including Sharna BurgessPeta MurgatroydVal ChmerkovskiyCheryl BurkeKeo MotsepeJenna JohnsonBrandon ArmstrongPasha PashkovEmma Slater and Gleb Savchenko, are also coming back. Britt Stewart and Daniella Karagach will be the first-time pros in the ballroom. 

This season’s celebrities have big shoes to fill after amazing performances from last year. Hannah and Alan had a few lows but continued to improve week after week until they won the mirror ball trophy.

“I think it’s because we’re honest with each other,” the Alabama native exclusively told Life & Style about their strong bond after their victory in November 2019. “If we don’t like something that one of us says, we just squash it right away. We just move forward. We have grown. I’ll be like, ‘I don’t like when you say that.’ He’s like, ‘OK, you gotta stop doing that.’ I’m like, all right.”
