Follow your heart, right? Bachelorette star Hannah Brown received a lot of backlash after going on The Bachelor and having an emotional reunion with her ex Peter Weber. Although some fans are keeping their fingers crossed for the Alabama beauty to rekindle things with the pilot, others think it’s time to close that romantic chapter.
“Surprised he still talks to you,” one person commented on the 25-year-old’s Instagram post where she wished Peter, 28, good luck with finding his “copilot.” “Get off The Bachelor, you suck. Boooooo,” another troll wrote.
However, it wasn’t all negativity. “She’s a real person who occasionally sees these comments. Please think before you leave your discouraging words on someone else’s picture,” a separate user snapped back at the hater. “Text your friends or something if you feel so passionately [about] it. It’s just completely unnecessary and uncalled for to comment on her picture when you don’t know her or know a fraction of what goes into the show.”
Hannah obviously appreciated the support and replied, “What she said,” and told the sweet commenter that she loved her. Although the person’s Instagram account is private, they are followed by the Bachelor Nation beauty so it’s likely they are friends IRL.
During the January 6 premiere, the Dancing With the Stars champ first appeared when she stepped out of the limo. Although they both got a little teary-eyed, Hannah wanted to return a pair of airline wings that he gifted her when they first met.
“When I heard that you were going to be the Bachelor, I had mixed emotions, but when you said you wanted to find your copilot … I want you to find that person and so I brought these back for you,” she explained.
However, things took an even more emotional turn when the Southern belle popped up on the first group date and told a steamy story about her sexcapades with the new leading man. Things seemed fine until Peter later walked in on her sobbing because she had been having regrets over letting him go.
“A little bit of me was kind of hoping you weren’t just dropping something off, but you were coming in,” Peter admitted. “But I didn’t need that. I appreciate you bringing the wings back, and you didn’t have to do that. I gave those to you, but no matter what, you are going to mean so much to me.”
Hannah was having a hard time wrapping her head around the decisions she made, which led to her crash and burn engagement to Jed Wyatt. “My heart was confused … I don’t know what the f–k I was doing. I am really f–ked up. I question a lot,” she confessed. The episode ended on a cliffhanger so viewers will have to wait to see what unfolds.
If you’re wondering — yes, that conversation was as hard as it looked. Hannah opened up about the situation on Twitter during the early morning hours of January 7.
“So that was not a blast at all. It was truly the hardest day — a day I was not looking forward to reliving. But thank you to those of you who have been so sweet and supportive tonight,” she wrote.
We hope Hannah and Peter find their happy ending … together or apart!
