The Perfect Attendees
It isn’t a real party until your besties are there. Make sure to invite your closest friends who are as into fashion and pop culture as you. You’re basically the mastermind behind this bash a.k.a. the Anna Wintour in the scenario, so your buds will feel lucky to be a guest, considering Vogue’s editor-in-chief, 69, only invites the top people in the industry.

Dress to the Theme
For the 2018 Met Gala, the theme was “Heavenly Bodies” and Alessandro Michele, Lana del Rey and Jared Leto perfectly reflected that. This year, the theme is “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” which is inspired by writer Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay titled “Notes on ‘Camp,’” which according to her is “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.” So basically, dress bold and outrageously.

Get Your Drink On
Make sure to have snacks and wine by the time the stars begin to hit the carpet, which based on past years, should be around 7 p.m. The event isn’t televised, but you can stream it or watch E!’s pre-show coverage starting at 5 p.m. to see your favorite celebs go up the famous museum’s stairs. Don’t forget the bubbly!

Decorate Appropiately
Now that you and your friends look great, you have to make sure your place does too! Of course, nothing can compare with the beautiful Metropolitan museum, but you can get pretty creative, and the Camp theme should help. Maybe consider getting a multi-colored floral backdrop for photos, and adding posters of your favorite celebs in their most exaggerated looks throughout your place. In simple terms, be classy, but go crazy.

Snap Pics
Technically, phones aren’t supposed to be used at the event, and while there may be some rule breakers, it’s still possible for you to incorporate a “no phone” policy. Instead of snapping pics directly from your cell, buy or borrow someone’s Polaroid camera and assign one of your friends as the designated photographer to have your own batch of memories to hold on to forever. Enjoy!
