Nearly a year after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married in May 2018, Suits creator Aaron Korsh admitted he thinks the show’s recent success has to do with the royal wedding.

The TV producer, 52, recently took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts on viewers’ interest in Meghan’s former gig. “Is it surreal to you that Suits is this beloved? Or have you learned to ‘own it?'” asked a fan. To which Aaron responded, “It was mind-blowingly surreal the first two seasons. [At] some point it became just the way it is. Then Meghan married Harry and it got surreal again …” he wrote in a quote-tweet.

We’re not surprised, TBH. As one of the most famous women in the world, it’s natural for people to look into the duchess’ past jobs. She played Rachel Zane, a paralegal/associate, for seven seasons until her character moved to Seattle to run a legal clinic with her husband, bringing Meghan’s time on the series to an end.

In real life though, things got more exciting for the former actress, 37, who turned into a literal princess, which means the chances of her returning to Suits‘ ninth and final season is pretty unlikely. After rumors circulated of Meghan making a comeback on the show, Aaron set the record straight about who will be reappearing and she is not mentioned. “As of this minute, I don’t know which of our old cast will be back and which won’t because we’re so early in the season. I can tell you that those things in the papers, I have no idea what they’re talking about,” he told Deadline in January.

“I have not arranged for millions of dollars to be donated to anything on behalf of anyone, so that I can tell you,” Aaron said regarding rumors that Meghan was going to be paid a substantial amount of money to act again. “But, as far as the original people coming back, including Jessica [Gina Torres, who is filming her spinoff show, Pearson], we’re so early in the season that we haven’t formulated what we want to do, so we can’t reach out to people before we know what we want to do.”

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, “Meghan is not coming back. USA would love to have her back, obviously, but no, she’s not going back.” It makes sense, especially now that she’s going to be extra busy raising a royal baby!
