Two peas in a pod! Bachelor in Paradise alum Tayshia Adams gushed about her relationship with boyfriend John Paul Jones and what drew them toward one another in Mexico. Although no one predicted that the pair would get together during season 6, the reality babe noted that she and the stud actually have very similar personalities.

The Bachelor Nation beauty had a few guesses as to why she thought fans were surprised by her romance with JPJ. “I think it’s just because John’s a little bit younger than myself,” the former contestant from Colton Underwood‘s season explained exclusively to Life & Style while rocking out at the iHeart Radio Music Festival. “Maybe I seemed a little bit more reserved on The Bachelor, so people didn’t think I would go for someone so outgoing as he is. But to be quite honest, that’s exactly who I am. I’m a very cheerful, outgoing, fun individual so we really just connect on that.”

The California native was one of the top three contestants on the former football player’s season but viewers definitely saw her true personality shine on Paradise. She noted that being a reality show vet helped shake out her nerves. “Just being in front of the cameras is a huge adjustment in and of itself. Bachelor was a very new world for me. It was something I stumbled upon, not something I had prepared for, so I was just doing the best I could,” she divulged. “Having a lot of cameras on you, you watch what you say, you’re a little bit more reserved.”

Although the couple left the beach broken up, they announced that they are still an item during the Paradise aftershow, which aired on September 17. Tayshia surprised JPJ in his hometown when the cameras stopped rolling and they had a very sweet reunion. Despite them both posting their admiration for each other on social media, rumors started swirling after the episode that the two split again.

“Reality Steve says y’all are no longer together,” a fan inquisitively commented on a cute Instagram photo that the starlet posted. Tayshia simply responded, “Guess what … He’s wrong!!!!” with a winking emoji.

For now, it seems like TayPJ is still going strong.
