Strap yourselves in, rap fans…it’s going to be a long, bumpy ride! Simmering tensions between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B came to a head during the New York Fashion Week Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party on Sept. 7, when Cardi tried to physically attack Nicki. The beef? Cardi, 25, claims Nicki, 35, insulted the “Bodak Yellow” singer’s ability to mother her two-month-old daughter, Kulture. Cardi’s never been one to back down from a fight, but that was one thing she really couldn’t let stand.

“Cardi’s dress looked ripped, her hair was being tugged on, and Cardi threw a shoe at Nicki but it missed her,” an eyewitness tells In Touch. “Cardi was then escorted out by security. She had a lump on her head after the fight, and there was a giant fistful of hair on the floor. One of Cardi’s assistants came and grabbed it and took it with her.” But the battle between the dueling divas is far from over. Expect things to turn musical next.

“Cardi is already penning her next revenge song about Nicki,” says an insider. And Nicki has no plans to back down, either. Two days after the incident, she posted an Instagram video with her song “Hard White,” which features lyrics that seem to take aim at Cardi’s stripper past, playing in the background. “Uh, look at my knockoffs, I told ’em knock it off. Anything that Nicki do, you know they knock it off,” Nicki raps on the track, adding, “I ain’t ever have to strip to get the pole position. Hoes is dissin’? Okay, these hoes is wishin’.”

“Nicki isn’t going to let this drop,” says the insider. But Cardi isn’t scared, either. She doesn’t rap about making “bloody moves” for nothing, telling everyone they can’t “f–k with” her. After all, you know what she says. It’s not a threat, it’s a warning, and she had more than her fair share of fights on Love & Hip Hop: New York. “Nicki mouthed off to the wrong person this time,” a source continued. “Let’s just hope they stay far away from each other at future events!”
