Cardi B and Offset’s Daughter Kulture Is Her ‘No. 1 Priority’ Following Split News
Staying busy! Cardi B’s daughter, Kulture, is her “No. 1 priority” amid her split from rapper Offset, an insider exclusively tells Life & Style.
“Cardi has a lot going on, her career is moving along nicely,” adds the insider about the “WAP” singer, 27. “She’s moving on.”
The “I Like It” artist filed for divorce from Offset, 28, in Fulton County, Georgia, on Tuesday, September 15, after three years of marriage. They welcomed their daughter, 2, in July 2018. The Migos rapper also has daughter Kalea, son Jordan and son Kody from previous relationships.
Cardi and Offset’s divorce is classified as “contested.” The “Bodak Yellow” singer stated her marriage with the “Clout” artist is “irretrievably broken” and there are “no prospects for a reconciliation,” according to documents obtained by Life & Style. Cardi requested “equitable division of all marital assets,” as well as their debts.
As far as their daughter, the New York native is also seeking primary legal and physical custody of the toddler and requested Offset be ordered to pay child support. The pair are due to appear in court for their first hearing on November 4.
Cardi and Offset were first romantically linked in February 2017 after attending Super Bowl LI together. They secretly wed on September 20, 2017, but didn’t publicly confirm their big news until the following June.
However, their first year of marriage was filled with ups and downs. Just three months after their secret nuptials, Offset was accused of cheating on his new wife with several different women, a fact which he later admitted. She forgave the “Ric Flair Drip” artist, and they moved on.
The musical duo hit a rough patch again in December 2018 when Cardi publicly announced on social media that they broke up. “I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” the Grammy winner explained via Instagram at the time. “And we’re really good friends and you know we’re really good business partners and you know, he’s always somebody that I run to, to talk to and we got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”
Offset wasn’t ready to say goodbye and made several public pleas to win Cardi back. They decided to stick it out and revealed they were back together by stepping out as a couple at the Super Bowl in February 2019.
It looks like the pair is walking away for good this time.
