The birthing plan is getting shaken up. Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi took to social media to share the news that her doctor is recommending a C-section birth for her first child — and how much the reveal shook her up.

“I’m a total hot mess right now,” the 40-year-old alum revealed on her Instagram Stories on July 9. “I’ve been crying for the last two hours. I know this sounds so stupid, but today’s doctor’s appointment … was very traumatic for me because they had to do this pelvic exam to see where my cervix was, if I’m dilated or not, and it was legit so unbelievably painful.”

She even detailed how far her anxiety reached during the procedure. “I started crying so bad and it hurt so bad that I started to have a little bit of a panic attack because I got lightheaded and I felt like I couldn’t breathe,” she explained while using a filter over her face to give her freckles and a flower in her hair. “I just clearly am not doing good.”

The soon-to-be first time mama even hashtagged one of her several videos with “#39weeks,” so you know we’re close to birthing time! But clearly, it’s extremely important to make sure mama and daughter are both prepared for the process. Thankfully, Gretchen’s doc is doing her part.

“After that, I spoke with my doctor and talked about all of the issues I am potentially going to have by inducing so I went from thinking I can do this and have a vaginal birth to now, the doctor, Slade [Smiley] and everyone … suggesting that I reconsider and just do a C-section,” she continued. “I think it’s the right thing. It’s the safest thing for me and the baby at this point because [the doctor] says I have a cervix of steel and it’s not wanting to open up.”

Even though Gretchen can understand the reasons for the big decision, it doesn’t seem to be the birth plan that she originally wanted with her fiancé, Slade.

“But I just really didn’t want to do a C-section so … I just need some advice, help, support from any of you out there who have had C-sections and I can feel like it’s going to be OK,” the RHOC alum asked fans and followers as she closed out her videos.

We’ve got your back, Gretch. You got this.
