A fresh start! Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson‘s wife Jennifer Lamb decided to go through with gastric sleeve surgery to shed some extra pounds and she’s loving the results. And luckily for fans, her dramatic weight loss makeover will reportedly be covered on the highly anticipated next season of Mama June: From Not to Hot.

“[Jennifer] feels great,” the insider told Radar. The reality star also updated fans on her Instagram page in August, revealing: “By December I will have reached my goal weight. It took me one year to do it.” Sugar Bear and his new wife tied the knot in February 2017, which means that Jennifer is now a stepmom to “Mama June” Shannon‘s 13-year-old daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Viewers can’t wait to see Jennifer’s transformation, since they also got to watch Mama June, 39, undergo lap band surgery. Since then, June has admitted to gaining 50 pounds back.

As viewers saw on a previous episode of Mama June: From Not to Hot from earlier this year, Jennifer went to the doctor because she was dealing with chest pains and shortness of breath. Her doctor referred her to a dietician who revealed that her symptoms are the result of her obesity because she weighed about 430 pounds. Jennifer was advised to get weight loss surgery — which would help reduce her heart and lung issues. At the time, Jennifer noted how she’s always been content with her size and addressed how Sugar Bear, 46, is attracted to her the way she is.

“I don’t believe in having surgery like June did just to lose weight. I’ve always said big is beautiful and I will always stand by that,” Jennifer said in her confessional. “I don’t want to look like June. I never would want to look like June, but if I keep doing what I’m doing now, I’m not guaranteed the next five years.” At least things worked out for the best!
